Should You Use A Single Crimp Terminal Or Double Crimp Terminal?

Single Crimp Terminals

Double Crimp Terminals

As you can guess from the name, these terminals are crimped twice. The metal barrel on the inside of the insulation is longer, allowing you to crimp twice: once on the bare wire, and again on the insulation on the wire. This double crimp makes it more secure, reducing the risk of a wire pull-out or corrosion over time. Double crimp terminals are especially useful in high-vibration applications. They also offer better strain relief.
